Basavanna is the Guru for Lingayaths :

In Lingayats, marriage ceremony takes place either at brides home or at grooms home. During this wedding one important ritual takes place as a program. That is groom is invited to bride’s home before the wedding ceremony. When he along with other family members and relatives arrives to the bride’s place they first wait in one of the nearest temple or math, whichever is near to the bride’s home. They are greeted, they exchange sugar and then they proceed to  bride’s home with Baaja Bhajantri ( Music band).

This event is significant part of Lingayath’s  culture. Everyone should notice this. This ritual is part of the whole wedding ceremony.

While the groom has to return with bride to his home, one more important ritual takes place. The groom  goes to prayer room/place(Pooja griha/ jagguli) and prays and then he  takes one of the idol from that pooja griha/poojaplace (jagguli). Here while taking the idol he picks the Basavanna’s idol(Nandi), and take it to his home. He won’t  pick any other idol of other gods, even if he is not doing so, the elders guide him to take Basavanna’s idol. This signifies that for the Lingayaths Basavanna is the only GURU and he is the only GOD.

Since, last 800 years of Lingayatism this ritual is been practised by all Lingayaths, till today thritual is practised among the Lingayaths without fail. - Shrana Umesh Basavatirthappa Mantale

Lingayat Religion and Culture

Basavanna Guru for the Gender:

When the lingayats do any program or ritual, they make a plenty of food  and offer to their friends and relatives (Anna Dasoha). But before that, they feed to Jangamas (Lingayath swamis)  and then they feed for the rest of the invitees. Even before feeding to Jangamas, they show off this to Basavanna as a Naivedya by keeping his idol (Nandi) in the centre of whole prepared food. They don’t keep any other  idol of any other God. This proves that Basavanna is the guru and whole and sole  for the Lingayats. - Sarana Umesh Basavathirthpappa Manthale

Federal Systems

federal government is a system that divides up power between a strong national government and smaller local governments.[1]
The Constitution of India establishes a federal structure to the Indian government, declaring it to be a "Union of States". Part XI of the Indian constitution specifies the distribution of legislative, administrative and executive powers between the Central government and the States of India.[2]
When India became independent, it has adopted federal system and accordingly the constitution is framed and powers are distributed among central and state governments. This is to protect the interest of regions and the unitedness of the nation. It was beautifully drafted that, it gives a very clear demarcation of states and centre. This federalism has not only stopped to these two, to strengthen democracy it is further extended to districts, talukas, and to panchayat level. The powers of these so clearly defined that there is no confusion and it is very successful.
Now I am my own view real federalism of India is upcoming now. Since, independence Congress ruled this country till almost 1990, or any other party which is central level. These parties could not give the justice to the states, since most of the time central and state government use to be same. Because of this regional interests were neglected and this lead to rise regional parties, such as TDP, DMK, AIDMK, Shivsena. TMC, Akalidal, Jantadal, LJP, Biju Janatadal. After many years of federal system, the people of India are executing their powers and electing local parties for the states and different govt. for the centre. But, the parties in the centre are using their powers to curtail the powers of local governments, this is what not expected. Central govt. is not big brother and states are not small brother. Whereas now a days, the parties in the central and state are of the same parties, because of this central govt. is using its monopoly ideology on the states as well, this is not good thing for this federal system.
In my view there should be altogether different parties at central and ther should different parties at the states. The parties of the central should not contest for the state and the local parties should contest in state level. Because of this, the party at the centre should take real consensus from the states.  This will protect the interest of the regions, languages and culture.
This is very much required to protect our culture, practices and languages. Other wise in the name one nation one religion, one nation one language and one nation one culture, this type of thinking will lead dictatorship and will lead to spilt in societies, religions and states. As we are seen in UP, Bihar, MP and Andhra in to further division. This has become so because, the leaders of one region neglected/dictated the other regions against their needs and interests, this negligence lead to many states and many parties.

DO-UNDO-REDO

1.       River pollution

DO: River water are mostly rain water, and rain water is the distilled water.  This is the gift of nature. But what we have done to these water.

UNDO: In the name of development, we established many industries, most of these industries are using the coal and diesel as fuel. These fuel are not environment friendly. These are the major air pollutants.
Most of these industries are established near the rivers, since they need more water so they started near the rivers. This is one part, whereas the other is the same industries started using this pure drinkable water and polluted this water and made them not drinkable. This polluted water need to purify, but it is very difficult to separate the chemicals. Assume that we will separate them and purify the water but what about the animals who are drinking the same polluted water. What about the milk and its products we use, the meat, chicken and beef which the people eat. We are not only killing the speechless animals, our crops are getting the same water and producing the seeds with hazards chemicals, we are polluting the soil making it not usable for our future generations. This is the man made disastrous, who will protect us from all this. If some leader takes some initiative to stop this and protect this globe, then he will be not less than any Prophet.

REDO: On one side we are polluting the mineral rich rivers, and on other side Govt. is announcing huge budget in cleaning the river Ganga. Since last 40 yrs. All Govts. Are announcing and providing huge budget but whether they could do it. It’s my strong belief that they cannot do this.

The one thing what the Govt. should do to protect the rivers is, they should just close outlets of industries which are emitting their waste in to the rivers. It may not require hardly any money but needs strong regulatory.

Recycling in real sense.2

Recycling.

Dear Friends,

Once again, I coming with the topic of recycling. I hope you like this.

I was watching the DW documentories ( which are just five minutes), these are worth watching and now a days they are reproducing them in Hindi.

There was one documentary which was on recycling of plastics, it was about some african island, ruled by prortugese. Its link is shared here, which you can go through.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCrZDcOia5s

Here the people keep(preserves) the plastic bottles used by them for months together, there is one NGO comes to collect these bottles. For every 50 bottles they give one steel bottle freely, because of this everyone preserves these plastic bottles and hand it to the NGO workers. Because of this the whole island has become plastic free.

Here in India, can we think of such things.

Here one thing we can understand from this as below,

  1. The people are getting educated towards enviroinment, social responsiblity and at the end they are getting some thing in return, because of this they take interest.
  2. One more thing their children are also involved in this activty, and they are also learning these values.
  3. One more thing, we learn that such practices can be cultivated in to people by giving them some thisng in return, where as not by putting fine towards use of plastics. When the concept of fine comes in to picture, then the Govts interest will be collecting fine not in solving this problem. One more thing this increases the bribing
  4. The otherway also can be to stop production of plastic bags and containers by providing some subsidies to non plastic bag and container producers.
  5. The recycling charges can be levied from the plastic producers so that the cost of plastic also increases and the people may avoid using them.
  6. Another thing goverment can put a ban on importing of palstic packed foods, plastic utensils, toys etc. This can also reduce the usage of plastic, by doing so the government can easliy achieve the palstic free nation.
Similarly we can think of many solutions if we are really worried about over nation and environment. This requires the Governments commitment towards making our country plastic free.
